More Brits may be visiting Ford dealerships
The number of Brits visiting Ford car dealerships up and down the country may have increased last month, if new figures are anything to go by.Statistics provided by the manufacturer have revealed the group sold 24,679 autos in the UK during July.
As a result, the firm claimed a 15.7 per cent market share.
Commenting on the figures, managing director Nigel Sharp said: "Ford's performance demonstrates how strong products can build sales even in the toughest trading climate."
The group acknowledged the scrappage scheme played a key part in last month's sales, with the Fiesta and Ka proving particularly popular with cash for bangers customers.
Mr Sharp described these models as highly specified and good looking, claiming they offer more than the standard entry-level vehicles available under the government programme.
In other news, judges at the recent Auto Express honours said the Fiesta - which was named Car of the Year - met all of their high expectations.
