Ford unveils automatic Fiesta

Motorists looking for a small automatic model may want to drop in to their nearest Ford dealership.

This is because the manufacturer has built a version of the Fiesta that does not require the driver to change gears manually.

According to product manager Chris Muers, there should now be an edition of the model to suit everyone.

"Typically, around ten per cent of small car buyers specify an auto option, so convenience technology is an important addition to a range that now offers an option for every taste," he explained.

Prices for the latest version of the car start at £13,195 on the road and customers can choose from three different trim levels – Titanium, Zetec and Style+.

In terms of performance, the vehicle can hit 62 mph in less than 14 seconds and is capable of fuel economy of 43.4 mpg.

Last month, the Fiesta was the best-selling auto in the UK.
