Ford Fiesta most sought-after car
Internet users looking for a new car in September were most likely to seek out a Ford Fiesta, according to recently released figures. There was also an significant increase in the people interested in buying a small car last month, thought to be because of rising fuel prices and because thousands of young drivers have just set off for university.
Ford's supemini topped the Desperate Seller most searched charts thanks to its surprisingly spacious interior and value for money package, reports the Auto Channel.
Two small cars from Volkswagen, the Polo and the Golf, came in second and third respectively.
"One of the ways we know that people are looking more for smaller-sized and compact vehicles is by monitoring the search activity on our website," said Russell Berry, co-founder of Desperate Seller.co.uk. is quoted as saying.
"However, even as smaller cars are gaining in popularity, searches on the site still remain consistently high for fuel-efficient vehicles."
Ford recently unveiled the latest addition to its Focus range, the Focus Coupe-Cabriolet.
