Fiesta 'built with allergy sufferers in mind'
Car buyers who suffer from allergies may benefit from paying a visit to their nearest Ford dealership.According to the manufacturer, the Fiesta has been designed with drivers who are sensitive to certain substances in mind.
It revealed the model has been subject to rigorous examinations by the British Allergy Foundation and the international testing authority TUV.
Andy Taylor, European sustainability director with Ford, said the company was aware certain metals and plastics were known to trigger allergies.
He explained: "Our engineers take special care to minimise or eliminate such materials, something that is confirmed in these exhaustive tests."
In addition to this, those car parts most likely to come into contact with skin - such as the steering wheel and seats - have also undergone dermatological examination.
The European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation has given the car its Seal of Quality - which means it considers it fit for use for people who are prone to reactions.
Last month, the Fiesta was the best-selling model in Britain.
