Award may inspire more visits to Ford dealerships

More Brits may be inspired to visit their local Ford car dealership, after one of the group's models won an award recently.

The Fiesta has been named auto of the year 2009 by the Northern Group of Motoring Writers.

According to the organisation, the vehicle was deemed to be a worthy recipient of the honour.

Chairman Mike Torpey stated: "It's a winner in every way."

He explained: "The new Fiesta is a real head-turner and a great drive, but even more than that, it gives good, honest value for money."

Meanwhile, the car's registration figures also suggest the auto is proving popular with the British public.

The model is the best-selling vehicle in the UK and has also resulted in more scrappage scheme orders than any other set of wheels.

In other news, Ford is due to unveil a new version of the C-MAX at this month's Frankfurt International Motor Show.
