Fiat car deal could appeal to eco-drivers
Eco-drivers might want to secure themselves a Fiat car deal, with the company's eco-friendly credentials bolstered by news of an environmental award for one of its products.The manufacturer's eco:Drive initiative was recently named as one of the Green Champion winners at the Green Apple Awards.
Drivers who use the free tool are able to plug a USB stick into their dashboard and monitor their carbon emissions and fuel efficiency.
Luis Cilimingras, the man responsible for the project, expressed his pleasure on receiving the prize.
In comparison to previous accolades, he said the latest result "is much more fulfilling, since it gives recognition of the work we have done for the environment".
The technology - which was launched at the 2008 Paris Motor Show – could interest drivers looking to keep tabs on their energy wastage.
Recently, the company announced that its Fiat 500 model has broken into the top ten UK sales rankings for the first time.
