Fiat Grande Punto voted best small car
The Fiat Grande Punto model has received recognition from automotive reviewers north of the border, who have named it Scottish small car of the year.The accolade was awarded to the car after a vote from the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW) for the ninth annual Scottish car of the year awards.
Stephen Park, president of the ASMW, was keen to point out that the stylish layout of the vehicle, the wide range of engines on offer and competitive pricing helped the supermini stand out from its rivals.
"Today's breed [of small cars] offers much more, including comfort, refinement and versatility," Mr Park added.
"The current crop, personified by Fiat's new Grande Punto, has transformed the small car sector out of all recognition in recent times."
Launched earlier this year, the Grande Punto takes its name from an earlier Fiat supermini.
The original Punto began production in the mid-90s and is still sold in Fiat car dealerships throughout the world.
