Fiat launches eco-friendly Panda

Motorists who are keen to update their current vehicle with a more environmentally-friendly model may be interested to hear Fiat has released a green version of the Panda.

Buyers can choose between the Active Eco and Dynamic Eco, both of which have emissions of 119 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometre.

Fiat has claimed the new model reinforces its position as Europe's leading low CO2 vehicle manufacturer.

Commenting on the UK launch, marketing director Elena Bernardelli said: "This is another example of how seriously we take the environmental issue, while offering drivers real value for money motoring."

The Active Eco costs £7,105 on the road and the Dynamic is priced at £7,705.

In recent months, Fiat has also released Cross and Mamy editions of the Panda.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer's 500 model proved popular in the evecars.com 2008 honours last month, where it was voted best supermini and top city car.
