Grande Punto price falls further
Fiat has announced it is reducing the cost of its Fiat Grande Punto even further for people taking part in the government's scrappage incentive scheme.Originally, the manufacturer announced its 1.4 Active three-door model would cost £6,995 under the programme - but is has now dropped that price another £300.
As a result, participants in the initiative will be able to drive away in a car that offers a variety of standard features, such as electric front windows and remote central locking for £6,695.
Fiat explained it had taken this step as part of its eco plus campaign - which it set up to encourage more motorists to ditch their old bangers in favour of safer, greener and more fuel-efficient models.
People who buy a Grande Punto through the vehicle scrappage scheme will make total savings of £2,995.
Alternatively, eligible motorists will be able to drive away from their local Fiat dealership with a brand new Panda for £4,995.
