Fiat Bravo 'looks like a larger Grande Punto'

The design of the new Fiat Bravo bears a striking resemblance to the Grande Punto, according to one automotive preview, which may be of interest to Fiat enthusiasts looking for a larger motor.

Set to arrive in Fiat car dealerships across the UK in July 2007, the Bravo will feature a host of engine options, including two 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engines that are designed to provide a level of performance that punches well above their size, reports DueMotori.com.

Meanwhile, the Italian automaker has indicated that it plans to sell approximately 4,000 Bravos in 2006, ahead of the anticipated launch of a redesigned high-performance Arbath version.

But the launch model shares most of its aesthetic traits with the Grande Punto, it is suggested.

"The car's styling makes it look like a bigger Grane Punto and Fiat is hoping the car will emulate the success of its smaller sibling, of which 35,000 were sold in the UK last year," commented the previewer.

As Fiat cognoscenti may already be aware, last year the automaker confirmed that its new logo would debut on the new Bravo.

Vertically-elongated, capitalised lettering spells out the Fiat name on the badge, which is offset by a ruby-red background.
