Green award presented to Citroen Vans

Citroen Vans has received praise at the 2008 Green Fleet Awards.

The group was named light commercial vehicle (LCV) manufacturer of the year.

According to the judges, Citroen earned the title through its commitment to the environment and reducing its carbon footprint.

This comes after the company introduced its Airdream programme which features dual fuel vehicles, advanced catalyst technology and an integrated driving solution provided by Trafficmaster.

Businesses that use the Trafficmaster product are reportedly able to increase productivity, save money and cut CO2 emissions.

A combination of satellite navigation, real time traffic information and various other features allows businesses to avoid congestion, find quicker routes and cut distances travelled.

Trafficmaster claims the technology can reduce fuel consumption by 12 per cent and cut the average amount of time spent in traffic jams by four hours a month.

In related news, the Citroen Nemo was named International Van of the Year 2009 last month.
