Citroen design initiative aims to foster competitive spirit

Increased competition in the design process of future Citroen vehicles is being introduced to try and foster innovations, it has been announced.

In future, every Citroen project at the Automotive Design Network (AND) Centre will be split between two creative teams, which will compete with each other to come up with new designs.

The head of each design team will then deliver their ideas to the styling manager, who will look to incorporate the best aspects of both presentations into each Citroen.

Meanwhile, the car manufacturer will also continue to outsource parts of the design process to outside studios, in an effort to ensure that motorists get the best deal possible.

The ADN centre, which houses over 1,000 workers on the outskirts of Paris, will be divided to reflect this greater emphasis on in-house competition.

Citroen has been producing cars for the European market since 1919.

Moving into the present day, Citroen enthusiasts can choose to purchase small vehicles such as the C1 city car, the C2 supermini and the C3 supermini, or upgrade to a range of mid-size and large passenger vehicles.
