Citroen's rally star Sebastien Loeb has said that his third consecutive world rally driver's championship title has proven the doubters wrong.
This week, the French driver was confirmed as world champion after rival Marcus Gronholm could only manage a fifth-placed finish in Australia, leaving him 21 points behind with just two races to go.
The result means that Mr Loeb, who drives a Xsara WRC, has now completed a hat-trick of championship wins while driving for Citroen.
Having won more rallies than any driver in the competition's history, the victorious driver said that this year's triumph demonstrates that he can continue to win even when the odds are stacked against him.
"I don't think many people thought it was possible to clinch this with a private team (Krono Total Citroen WRT), even if it was supported by Citroen Sport," he explained.
The winning rally car is based upon the standard Xsara model, which is available at Citroen car dealerships throughout the UK.
