Citroen C4 Picasso "will set new standards"

Citroen's new C4 Picasso will "set new standards in its class" when it is launched, according to the manufacturer.

Described as sleek and stylish, Citroen points to an innovative seat folding design, designed to offer "exceptionally quick and easy" reconfiguration to provide luggage space or seat seven people in comfort.

The MPV will be displayed at the Paris Motor Show, which starts on September 30th, alongside the C-Metisse concept car and the C4 WRC rally car.

In common with existing models in the Citroen range, the C4 Picasso features an array of technologically-advanced features, such as 30 different interior light sources, air quality sensors and pneumatic rear suspension.

Some models will also feature a four-zone air conditioning unit, while the car is designed to make the most use of natural exterior light.

Other technologically-advanced systems included in the C4 Picasso include a parking space measurement system, as well as an electric parking break that automatically engages when the car is parked.

What Car? claims that the C4 Picasso will go on sale early 2007. It is designed to "plug the gap" between the Picasso and the Citroen C8, the magazine concluded.
