Citroen has announced it is to reduce prices for two of its models in Australia, claiming that sales are so strong it can afford to accept lower margins. The Citroen C2 and C3 have been reduced in [price, while a new entry price for the C4 Coupe VTR has been introduced. Australian customers can now pick up an entry level C3 for a recommended retail price of A$17,990, a reduction of A$2,000. The sportier Citroen C2 meanwhile is fully equipped and can now be purchased for A$21,990. The Citroen C4 Coupe, previously priced at A$25,990 is now available for A$23,990 for a limited time only. CarPoint Australia quoted Miles Williams, general manager for Citroen in Australia, saying: "Our French colleagues use a simple equation: the more cars we sell, the better our pricing. "With a 26 per cent rise in Australian sales so far this year and we have generated some serious cost savings that we are now passing onto Citroen buyers." Prices have also been reduced in the South African market. The 1,4i C3 hatchback now costs R115,995, down from R127,995, while the 1,4 HDi's price remains ststic at R129,995. The 1,6i version meanwhile sells for R129,995, down from R153,995, while the automatic version has been reduced to R139,995 from R163,995.
