'World first' car fitting room unveiled by Chevrolet

Automobile manufacturer Chevrolet has unveiled what it claims is the first fitting room in the world where motorists can see what they look like in cars.

People visiting the firm's Phoenix Wimbledon site can get behind the wheel of a potential purchase and check out what they look like from all angles using a series of mirrors and a remote-controlled platform.

For some motorists, it may be that their appearance in a vehicle is just as important as other factors in a new purchase such as cost or the price of a car insurance policy.

According to Channel 4 style guru Nicky Hambleton-Jones, it is important to try and look good behind the wheel.

She said: "You wouldn't dream of buying a dress or suit without trying it on first, so why should it be any different when it comes to buying a car?"

Hambleton-Jones is a qualified dietician and hosts makeover programme 10 Years Younger on Channel 4.
