Cars 'will be more important than ever this summer'
British drivers may well end up spending longer behind the wheel this summer - regardless of whether they bought their motor from a Citroen or Chevrolet dealership - it has been suggested.According to Kwik-Fit, with more people holidaying in the UK, cars are becoming an increasingly important part of travellers' getaway plans.
It claimed growing numbers of Brits are opting to spend their leisure time in their home country - often incorporating multiple destinations in a single trip.
Figures collected by the group show on average people holidaying in this way cover 385 miles during one break.
With this in mind, the company suggested it made sense to get some auto checks carried out before leaving, to ensure a vehicle is running as it should.
Customer services director David White commented: "The Brit Hop generation is here - and at the centre of it is the car."
Earlier this summer, Kwik-Fit also claimed it was a good idea to get air conditioning units looked at before going on holiday.
