Chevrolet Tacuma features in possible chart-topper
For those drivers who want a bit of glamour from their motors, Chevrolet has revealed that its Tacuma model features on a possible contender for the Christmas number one slot.Honk-a-Tonk Christmas is a song that features contributions from the Tacuma model, as well as the American's Matiz, Kalos and Lacetti models, alongside trumpets, tubas and cornets from the London Symphony Orchestra for a one-off novelty group called Car-mony.
The song is a medley of traditional festive songs, including Away in a Manger, O Come All Ye Faithful and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
Currently available as a free download, if the automaker gets a sufficient level of interest it has intimated that it may unleash the song as a chart single.
"Every year, there's plenty of wonderful songs vying for the Christmas number one," commented Les Turton of Chevrolet.
"With Car-mony, we hope to take on other acclaimed pop acts in the race for the top slot."
If the song does battle it out for the top slot this Christmas, it could follow the path set by the JCB Song in 2005.
Released by the artist Nizlopi last December, the song eventually placed second in the singles chart for the Christmas week.
