Chevrolet Captiva up for grabs in publicity stunt
The new Chevrolet Captiva sports utility vehicle (SUV) has received a publicity boost after motorists were given the opportunity to win one for themselves. In London's Covent Garden, thousands of people queued up for the opportunity to scratch off a panel from a specially-designed Captiva, in the hope of finding the square that named them as competition winner.
It is believed to be the first time that a car has been covered in silver latex for the purposes of a scratch card-style competition.
Les Turton of Chevrolet has commented on the PR initiative set up to promote the launch of the Captiva in the UK.
"The Captiva is set to be one of the best value for money SUVs on the market but the fact that a lucky participant is only one scratch away from winning the car represents even better value," he said.
Earlier this month, automotive publication Auto Express released what it claimed were the "world's first spy shots" of the revised Lacetti, which boasts a pointed front end and a rising shoulder line.
