Renault picked up the accolade for Best Manufacturer Marketing Initiative this month at the award ceremony hosted by Car Dealer magazine.

The viral adverts by Renault not only amassed four million views on YouTube but also impressed dealers in the UK. Comments about the video campaign included “It’s just the type of thing we used to see Renault doing” and another describing it as “clever, funny and memorable – what’s not to like?”

The newest “Va Va Voom” video campaign, promoting the latest Renault Clio supermini, comprises of two minute films. These promotional videos feature unsuspecting drivers receive a sexy surprise upon pressing a fictitious Va Va Voom button on the car’s dash.

The editor of Car Dealer, James Batchelor, commented: “Renault should be rightly pleased with this award. Their Va Va Voom campaign is sharp and amusing and it’s a clear sign that Renault is back to its old ways in producing memorable adverts.”

Batchelor added: “The Car Dealer Power Awards are unique in the industry and give dealers a chance to tell it like it really is. More than 2,500 dealers voted – it’s the most conclusive picture of what dealers in this country think. It gives me great pleasure to name the Va Va Voom campaign as our Best Manufacturer Marketing Initiative of the Year.”

The Digital Brand Communications Manager for Renault UK, Matt Lamprell, commented: “It is an honour to win this award – particularly when it’s voted for by so many dealers. We were really keen to find a way to showcase the new Clio in an innovative and exciting way online and we definitely managed to achieve that with this campaign.”

“New Clio is a stylish, attractive model that appeals to a wide audience. I’m delighted these videos are getting the industry recognition they deserve. They have certainly raised the bar and we now have to think of something even more eye-catching for the next one.”

UK motorists can test driver or purchase a new Renault Clio model now at Perrys Renault Dealership over in Aylesbury.

Prices for the Renault Clio currently start from £10,595.
