Citroen has successfully smashed a new Guinness World Record with a little help from Grammy-winning pop sensation Foxes.

Together, the French carmaker and the popstar cracked the record for the most live concerts performed in 12 hours in different cities in aid of cancer charity Trekstock.

In total, Foxes performed seven live concerts in seven different locations around the UK in the space of just 12 hours, using an all-new Citroen C1 to travel between the venues.

Seven gigs in seven different locations

Starting at 10am in Southampton, the singer made stops in Brighton, Guildford, Reading, Oxford and High Wycombe, before finishing up at the House of Vans in London at exactly 10pm.

In order for the record attempt to be successful, Guinness World Records decreed that each of the seven gig venues had to be at least 50km from the last, with each performance lasting a minimum of 15 minutes.

Using the C1, the act completed a 250-mile route in total, with Citroen saying that they even made it to the final venue with fuel in the tank left to spare.

This isn’t the first time that Citroen has teamed up with Foxes either, after the singer has also been seen using the C1 for driving lessons.

She said: ““It’s been amazing to see this challenge through to the finishing line. It’s been a long day, but I’m so excited to be able to say that I’m now a Guinesss World Records title holder.

“I’d like to say a huge thanks to Citroen and my team for making this become a reality. After taking the new C1 from city to city, I’m more determined than ever to pass my driving test and get out on the open road.”

New Citroen C1 available now!

The new C1 was first revealed by Citroen last March, and has since gone on to prove itself a critical success, having been named the most reliable car in the 2014 Which? Car Guide.

Available in three trim levels with a wide range of equipment, which includes LED daytime running lights and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the Citroen C1 is priced from just £8,245.
