Alfa Romeo have announced prices, specs and release dates for its two latest models, the Guilietta and MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde.
The all-new high-performance models, which made their world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, as well as their UK debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, are set to go on sale in the UK in late July.
Alfa Romeo Guilietta 60th anniversary edition
To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the updated Giulietta is now available in Quadrifoglio Verde spec, often known as Cloverleaf in the UK due to the four-leafed clover symbol carried by Alfa driver Ugo Sivocci in the 1920s, and features the same 237bhp aluminium 1.75-litre turbocharged petrol engine that first appeared in the 4C coupe, which generates a hefty 340Nm of torque.
Paired with a TCT 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox with Launch Control system, the new Giulietta QV will manage 0-62mph in 6 seconds flat, 0.8 seconds quicker than its predecessor.
The new Giulietta is therefore capable of 149mph top speed, but is also compliant with Euro 6 standards, emitting 162g/km of CO2, a reduction of 15g/km from the last version and not a bad output for a car of its type.
In addition to brand new striking intake and twin exhausts, the Cloverleaf Giulietta features lowered sports suspension, 18-inch allow wheels, red Brembo brake callipers , dark-tinted rear windows, and an Anthracite finish for the front grille as well as the wing mirrors, door handles and fog-light frames.
The interior is enhanced with a new steering wheel and instrument panel with Quadrifoglio Verde logo as well as new wraparound sports seats with a one-piece backrest, front and rear parking sensors and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The limited-run ‘Launch Edition’ adds more to the mix, with carbon fibre detailing, new side skirts and rear diffuser, as well as a unique numbered plaque and matte Magnesio Grey finish and only 100 Launch Edition Giuliettas out of the total 500 made will make to the UK.
New 2014 Alfa Romeo Mito
The new MiTo is also available in the revered Quadrifoglio Verde Cloverleaf and has a similar range of premium features to the Giulietta, with a burnished finish on the headlight surrounds, front grille, door mirrors and handles, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels and the same red brake callipers as the Cloverleaf Giulietta.
The dashboard comes with a carbon look finish, black leather with white stitching and all-new instruments as well as a five-inch touchscreen multimedia system.
The MiTo is powered by a 1.4-litre MultiAir turbo petrol unit with a maximum output of 168bhp and 250Nm of torque, which Alfa claim will catapult the MiTo from 0-62mph in just over seven seconds, which is 0.2 seconds quicker than the outgoing version, with a top speed of 136mph.
It also comes with the new TCT gearbox and launch control, as well as a stop-start system and manages a decent 52mpg with 124 g/km worth of CO2 emissions.
Prices for the new Alfa lineup start at £28,120 for the new Giulietta and £30,280 for the limited edition Launch Edition version, while the new MiTo starts at £20,210.
