2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta launched

Alfa Romeo has given its Giulietta a raft of updates, including some minor restyling to the exterior, interior upgrades and a more efficient engine range.
First launched in the UK back in 2010, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta remains one of the most stylish hatchbacks in its market segment. Styling changes for 2014 have been carefully considered, with a new front grille design included along with revised front fog lights, new alloy wheel designs and new exterior colours.
The new body colour choices include Luna Pearl, Cobalto Blue and Metallo Bronze.
There are four trim levels available for the updated Giulietta from launch – ‘Progression’, ‘Distinctive’, ‘Exclusive’ and ‘Sport Nav’.
Inside the cabin of the Giulietta now features an Uconnect multimedia system takes pride of place in the redesigned, high-quality dashboard, with the associated USB/Aux ports now relocated to a more convenient position in the centre console.
The infotainment gadget is now standard across the full 2014 Giulietta range. It is operated via a five-inch colour touch screen or using voice commands and includes Bluetooth connectivity, wireless music streaming, hands-free SMS reading and DAB digital radio.
Giulietta models with satellite navigation included feature a larger 6.5-inch screen with 3D bird’s-eye maps included for extra convenience.
Other standard kid available for the Giulietta includes the Alfa DNA driving mode selector, air conditioning and LED daytime running lights.
Compared to the previous standard trim Giulietta, the new version, Progression, is priced £470 higher but offers £1,700 worth of extra equipment.
The Distinctive-trim Giulietta starts from £19,485 and adds rear parking sensors, cruise control and dual-zone climate control.
Starting from £22,735 is the Exclusive-trim Giulietta which adds dark tinted windows, rain-sensing wipers and sports suspension.
The range-topping Sportiva Nav-trim Giulietta is available from £24,485. This version adds the previously mentioned satellite navigation feature as well as front parking sensors plus leather and Alcantara upholstery.
New door trim panels and a sporty new steering wheel design bring improved quality and a classier feel to Alfa Romeo’s hatchback.
Extensively revised sound insulation also provides a quieter and more relaxed driving experience.Each engine for the 2014 Alfa Romeo Giulietta range benefits from improved efficiency and lower emissions. This doesn’t just make the Giulietta more environmentally friendly, it also results in lower fuel bills.
The updated engine range includes a debuting 148bhp 2.0-litre JTDM-2 diesel. It doesn’t just offer more power and torque compared to the previous 138bhp 2.0-litre diesel it replaces; it also produces 9g/km less in terms of CO2 emissions.
