The 300,000th British-built Land Rover Freelander 2 has rolled off the production line at the Halewood plant in Liverpool.
Land Rover has revealed it has reached the milestone in just six years as sales of the Freelander 2 top 50,000 every year.
The milestone model was a black 2.2-litre diesel Freelander 2 destined for the Brazilian market but the Freelander 2 is also the most popular Land Rover in the UK and worldwide.
Halewood Operations Director Richard Else, said: "I'd like to congratulate the Halewood team for reaching this superb milestone and also sustaining the highest quality standards on Freelander 2, during the Range Rover Evoque launch period.
"Freelander was Land Rover's biggest selling model last year retailing around 52,000 units globally."
Built alongside the Range Rover Evoque at Halewood, the Freelander is available in two- or four-wheel drive and Land Rover Freelander 2 prices start from £22,700 on-the-road.
Available in three trim levels; S, GS, XS and the luxury HSE trim, the Land Rover Freelander 2 comes with a choice of 2.2-litre diesel in 150bhp or 190bhp variation depending on the trim chosen.
Standard equipment on the Land Rover Freelander 2 S specification includes air conditioning, steering wheel-mounted controls, alloy wheels and a radio/CD player.
Land Rover Freelander 2 GS models, starting from £25,700, add cruise control, climate control, an Alpine branded audio system wuth nine speakers.
Land Rover Freelander XS models, priced from around £29,000, include front and rear parking aids, part-leather seats and options including DVD sat-nav, Bluetooth and a panoramic sunroof.
At the top of the range the Land Rover 2 HSE costs £33,655 and includes a luxurious interior with leather seats, interior finishes, a range-topping sound system and even the option of a luxury pack to boost equipment further.
The Land Rover Freelander 2 is on sale now at Rocar Moores Land Rover in Huddersfield and Cropley Land Rover in Halifax.
