The latest Ford green car has lower CO2 emissions than its predecessor.
The new Ford Mondeo features two new high-efficiency powertrains: a new 240PS version of the Ford EcoBoost two-litre turbo petrol engine and the 200PS 2.2-litre Ford Duratorq TDCi diesel.
Lower emissions and improved fuel efficiency are both apparent as a result of the latest powertrains, according to the manufacturer, while the company's driving experience can still be enjoyed.
One notable addition on the green Ford car is the two-litre Ford EcoBoost engine as it can ensure the vehicle achieves an average CO2 output of just 179 g/km with the technology enabling emission reductions of up to 20 per cent.
Stephen Odell, chairman and chief executive for Ford of Europe, said: "The new Mondeo completes the very comprehensive update of our European family of flagship large cars which we started earlier this year when we launched the new Ford S-MAX and Galaxy models.
"New designs, powertrains and technologies deliver greater driving pleasure and lower CO2 emissions, as well as a more premium feel and even more comfort and safety."
In order to try and make the motor more relaxing for individuals, the Ford green car now comes with further driver assistance technologies such as Lane Departure Warning, Driver Alert and Auto High Beam.
These all use a high sensitive camera which is positioned in front of the rear view mirror, at the top of the windscreen.
This news comes after the Ford S-MAX was recently named best people carrier by Business Car Manager.
