Because of this, the green Vauxhall car Euro 5-compliant 1.3 CDTi (75PS) models can achieve a best mpg of 70.6 - an improvement of more than seven per cent on the previous model which has increased by nearly five mpg.
The technology enables the engine of the motor to automatically switch off when the vehicle is standing at traffic lights or in a queue and the driver has their foot off the clutch and gearstick in neutral.
All the motorist has to do to start up the engine again is press the clutch pedal and put the Vauxhall green car into first gear to be away - which helps improve a person's carbon footprint instead of wasting valuable energy sitting at the lights.
But the vehicle's braking performance, power steering and car ventilation are all maintained while the engine is switched off temporarily. This includes drivers being able to select a level of air conditioning while the unit is off.
The manufacturer has used an "enhanced" starter motor on its latest green Vauxhall car, to ensure Start/Stop is reliable, as well as a "high performance" battery and an Electric Power Management system to ensure the vehicle re-starts efficiently.
And these changes have led the new Corsa to be more eco-friendly compared to the Euro 4 1.3 CDTi (75PS) engine, there is now a nine g/km reduction of CO2 emissions on the vehicle which is down to 105 g/km. An increase in torque of 20Nm has seen the current level rise to 190Nm.
Moreover, the producer has a range of Vauxhall Corsa vehicles available which includes a three-door hatchback that comes on a variety of trims including the S, Energy, Exclusiv, SX, as well as the SE model.
