Peugeot has managed increased sales of 31.5 per cent in the year-to-date, partly thanks to its green car range.
The economical vehicles have proved to be "a hit" with customers during March after the company recorded sales figures that rose by 22.3 per cent.
One of the main positives for the manufacturer was the environmentally-friendly Peugeot 107, which comes in either manual or two-Tronic transmission and the producer said people will be saving their money as well as the planet with the green car.
It added: "At home in the city environment, the 107 is no slouch when it comes to look after the natural world either."
On a one-litre petrol engine the vehicle achieves a fuel economy rating of 106 g/km of CO2 emissions with a five-speed manual transmission and the producer claims the motor should be 95 per cent recyclable at the end of its life.
"The stylish and practical" Peugeot 207 is another eco-friendly motor which has proved a good seller after it was a catalyst to increase the manufacturer's sales of small cars by 15.4 per cent in the year-to-date.
The company's ideology to maximise fuel economy is in keeping with the engine of the Peugeot 207 model and it isn't compromised on performance, the producer remarked.
A reduction in CO2 emissions occurs with the motor thanks to its high-pressure direct injection technology and there are also energy-saving tyres fitted to the model.
These are designed to help reduce rolling resistance and "therefore the amount of fuel needed to propel the vehicle, without losing any of course". Also included on the vehicle is a Gear Shift Indicator, which helps people optimise their efficiency.
Moreover, the manufacturer believes it is well and truly "on the move" with a range of green cars and new models that are "fast becoming the benchmark cars in their segments".
