Motability's New Vehicle Payment Has Been Extended

Motability has recently made its new joiners aware of great news, the New Vehicle Payment, a single £750 contribution to assist in purchasing a new vehicle through the Motability Scheme, is being extended until the end of 2024.

This extension means that if you place an order or take delivery of your first vehicle before the end of the year, you will receive £750 towards its purchase.

Who is Eligible:

Anyone placing an order for their first car or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) before the end of 2024.

It's important to note that the £750 New Vehicle Payment is a one-off benefit and is not applicable every time you receive a new vehicle on the Scheme. Customers choosing scooters and powered wheelchairs are entitled to a £100 New Product Payment instead, and this contribution has also been extended until the end of 2024. However, you cannot get both, the New Vehicle Payment and the New Product Payment, as one excludes the other.

How is the New Vehicle Payment Paid?

There are two options available. The payment can be sent directly to your dealership, especially if your chosen car has an Advance Payment. In this case, the £750 can be put towards your Advance Payment. If the Advance Payment exceeds £750, the difference must be paid directly to your dealership. If the Advance Payment is instead less than £750, the remaining amount will be sent to you after taking delivery of the vehicle, allowing you the flexibility to use it as and when you see fit. However, it's important to remember that the New Vehicle Payment can only be applied to your vehicle's Advance Payment and cannot be used for extras or adaptations.

Should you choose not to have your New Vehicle Payment sent directly to your dealership or if you order a car without an Advance Payment, the full payment will be sent to you within a few weeks of receiving your new vehicle, with the payment being sent to you via bank transfer or cheque. If you choose to purchase a powered wheelchair or scooter, thus using the New Product Payment instead, then the £100 will be paid to you after purchasing the said product.
