Alfa refreshes GT and 147 for Paris Motor Show
Alfa Romeo has announced it is to spruce up its GT and 147 models ahead of the Paris Motor Show next month. The Italian firm said that the 156-based GT will continue to be produced despite the launch of the Brera, which many had expected to replace it.
Alfa said that the GT will receive the Blackline 2 options package, including dark-tinted headlamps, 18 inch alloy wheels and chromed strips on the front spoiler. In addition the interior has been revamped.
Otherwise the GT is to remain unchanged, powered by 165bhp 2.0, 240bhp 3.2 V6 and 180bhp 1.8 petrol engines, as well as the .9 JTD (150bhp) diesel version.
However, it will not be the only revamped model on display at the Paris Motor Show in September, as Alfa Romeo has announced it is also refreshing its aging 147.
The chromed tailgate strip is to be removed to be replaced with chromed 'whiskers' to the side of the front grille.
Internally more expensive fabrics and materials have been used, in addition to new two-tone upholstery and a choice of new paint colours.
It will also receive the Blackline 2 options package, distinguishable by its lowered suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels and black roof and rear spoiler.
Customers can order the new 147 now, but the first updated version is not expected to be delivered before October.
