The new Alfa Romeo 147 is quickly winning fans across the globe, as critics queue up to pay tribute to the model.
Car reviewer Parker's has welcomed the vehicle's longevity - something that has often been lacking in some of Alfa's previous vehicles.
Indeed, resale values have often worried private buyers when plumping for an Alfa, but they needn't worry with the 147, as its traditional Italian styling has given it an air of longevity that the maker has sometimes failed to capture.
According to Parker's, the vehicle that was voted Car of the Year 2001 has continued to impress and today remains a firm favourite, thanks in part to a facelift in 2005 that has helped to win more fans.
The 147 also handles well, giving the driver good cornering and responsive steering, although the stiff suspension can occasionally make for a bumpier ride than you might wish for.
It is also a fuel efficient model, with the 2.0-litre petrol and 1.9-litre turbo-diesel the best performers of the 147.
